I’m Karissa Whitlatch, founder of Made to Thrive Wellness. I’m a licensed professional counselor with over ten years of experience providing trauma-informed therapy for individuals seeking healing, growth, and deeper emotional well-being.

My work focuses on helping people process both current life challenges and unresolved trauma that may still be impacting their relationships, emotions, and daily life. I am trained in EMDR therapy, attachment and parts-work, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-based approach that helps address how trauma can be experienced both mentally and physically. The experience and wounds we carry do not have to keep us stuck. They can be used to shape us into the person we are meant to be. Together, we will work toward meaningful healing so you can move beyond survival and begin to thrive.

Sometimes our current life situation brings us grief. You may fear, “if I let myself grieve, then I’ll never move on or be stuck.” Are you unsure why you still feel anxious, sad, or angry? Grief was not meant to be carried alone. Grief can be a gracious process that moves us from pain to acceptance of a new life that has been transformed by loss. It is my honor to walk along those who have experienced loss to graciously move through grief, so that you may thrive in a new transformed life.

I also specialize in supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and the emotional transitions of motherhood. Motherhood can feel isolating and overhelming. It was not meant to be navigated alone. As a mother of three and a therapist certified in Perinatal Mental Health, I understand both the beauty and the challenges of this season and seek to provide compassionate support for mothers navigating anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, or postpartum struggles.

My Christian faith has been foundational to my own life and understanding of healing, hope, and purpose. I received theological training as part of my Master’s degree and continue this integration as a PhD student. It would be my pleasure, for clients who desire it, to offer Christian integration as part of the therapeutic process.
