Christian Counseling in Gilbert, AZ
Faith-Based Therapy Rooted in Compassion, Clinical Care, and Biblical Truth
At Made to Thrive Wellness, Christian counseling provides a space where your faith and your mental health journey can be addressed together. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, grief, relationships, life transitions, pregnancy, postpartum challenges, or simply feeling disconnected from the person God created you to be, counseling can help you find healing, hope, and renewed strength.
We believe that true healing involves the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and faith. Through evidence-based counseling approaches and Christian integration grounded in Scripture, we will work together to better understand your story, develop practical tools for growth, and move toward greater freedom and wholeness.
What is Christian Counseling?
Christian counseling integrates evidence-based mental health care with Christian faith and biblical truth. It recognizes that emotional struggles, trauma, relationships, and life circumstances can impact our spiritual lives, and that many people desire support that honors both their psychological needs and their relationship with God.
Christian counseling does not mean that faith replaces therapy. Instead, it creates space to explore how your beliefs, values, relationship with God, and spiritual practices are an essential part of your healing journey.
Depending on your preferences and needs, sessions may include:
Exploring your relationship with God and how faith supports your healing journey
Understanding how your story and experiences have shaped you
Processing pain, grief, trauma, or difficult life seasons
Identifying unhealthy beliefs and replacing them with truth
Developing emotional regulation and coping skills
Strengthening relationships and boundaries
Integrating prayer, Scripture, or spiritual disciplines
My Approach to Christian Counseling
My approach to Christian counseling is grounded in both clinical expertise and theological training. I believe healing involves the whole person—mind, body, relationships, emotions, and spiritual life—and that Scripture and evidence-based counseling can work together to support growth and restoration.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Phoenix Seminary, where I was trained within a Christian theological framework, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Supervision and Education through New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with an emphasis on integrating biblical theology and evidence-based mental health care. My clinical work is informed by both counseling research and a commitment to being rooted in Scripture.
Through this approach, I seek to provide a space where you can pursue emotional healing, personal growth, and deeper understanding while honoring the role faith plays in your life.
How Christian Counseling Can Help
Christian counseling can support individuals navigating:
Anxiety & Overwhelm
Learn to understand your nervous system, develop emotional regulation skills, and move from fear and anxiety toward greater peace and trust in God and the plans He created you for.
Trauma & Painful Experiences
Your story matters. Trauma-informed Christian counseling can help you process painful experiences and past trauma to transform the pain into a story of hope and redemption.
Grief & Loss
Loss can impact every area of life, including your relationship with God. Counseling provides a safe space to process grief, questions, and emotions in connection with your faith.
Life Transitions
Major transitions such as marriage, motherhood, career changes, parenting, or seasons of uncertainty can bring both growth and struggle. Explore who you are beyond expectations, achievements, or past experiences and reconnect with your God-given identity.
Pregnancy, Postpartum & Motherhood
The transition into motherhood can bring unexpected emotional challenges. Christian counseling can provide support for postpartum anxiety, depression, birth trauma, identity shifts, and the many adjustments of motherhood.
